Hibiscus

I learned a valuable lesson when I did this mani. If you want to try a newspaper mani then you kinda really need to have a newspaper around to use. Ha!
I got my nails prepped and used two coats of Sansan Cloudy Gray and let it dry then went hunting for a newspaper and couldn’t find a single page in the whole house! So I changed plans. I grabbed Sinful Colors Amethyst and Why Not? And LA Colors Raspberry and one of my stamping plates and put flowers all over my nails. I like how it turned out and it lasted a long time. I have been very impressed with all my Sansan polishes. Does anyone else have any Sansan polishes? What do you think of them?

Holo stamping

This was such a hard mani to photograph. I decided to try out holo on holo stamping. It was so cool looking. My husband said, “It looks like some kind of futuristic digital manicure.”
First pic shows the pretty holo and second is in shadow to show clearly the pattern I chose to stamp.
Have a great weekend!

Purple Zebra

Here’s a quick shot of some nails I did for my great friend, Becky.
She wanted purple and silver so I used Sinful Colors’ Amethyst as the base and stamped with Jocarste’s silver. It turned out really cute.
Ps. Jocarste silver is hard to clean off as I’m sure you can tell by her glittery fingers. 🙂
Have a great day!

Bk With Stamping

I needed a pick me up mani and decided holo was the way to go. I don’t have easy access to China Glaze, Color Club or any of those fancy holos but I did find some BK Holographic polishes which I got 3 of in purple and pink shades. This one is #24 with stamping. I’ve been putting off trying a full nail stamping but when I finally sat down to try it it turned out to be pretty easy.

I hope y’all like it. First pic is in the shade.

Pink Passion

I knew I wanted something that was girly for Valentine’s Day and this is what I came up with. I started with two coats of this extremely pink polish and then pulled out my stamping plates and put a heart on each nail and then finished off by adding quilting around the heart and rest of the nail. I used a straight pin at an angle to attempt straight looking stitches. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I’m sure someone has a tutorial out there which might have a super easy method for perfect stitches but I just came up with this and wanted to see if i could figure out how to get the look in my head. I think it’s time to invest in another brush to cut down to a tiny point. It seems to me a brush may work better. This is definitely not my best work but I do like it. It is very festive.

When I put the base color on I had the following conversation with my hubby:
Hubby: “Wow! That’s a really pretty color. What is it called?”
Me: “You think so? It’s called Pink Passion. I don’t know if I love it. It’s just so pink.”
H: “yeah, I really really like that color. It makes me happy just looking at it. Do you have a back up bottle?”
Me: “No. Wait, So you are saying you like Barbie pink?”
*We look around a while comparing pink things and determining that this isn’t quite Barbie pink.
*Hubby adds “Backup bottle of Pink Passion” to shopping list.
Long story short, Pink Passion by Caronia is Hubby approved. 🙂

I hope you guys like it.
