Going Native

These nails were inspired by one of my favorite types of jewelry. I hope you can see the American Indian influence of the red coral and opal inlay with turquoise as well. I think it turned out very well especially considering I free-handed everything. I was worried my lines would be very uneven and crooked. But, turns out being a perfectionist can pay off in some areas. ๐Ÿ™‚

I created these for a nail art challenge hosted by Louise of Mommy Loves Nail Polish to celebrate her blossoming Facebook page. Go check her out. She is a sweetie.

To get this look I used
Sansan – Sea green
Sally Hansen -Fireball red
Caronia – Crystal
Kiss Nail art striper in black
Dotting tool for stippling

Leave a comment and let me know what you think. She will have a photo album open tomorrow for voting so go check out all the entries and put your 2 cents in.

Antique roses

I thought I would share with you all the very first real nail art I did several months ago which really started me on my new hobby. ๐Ÿ™‚

Isn’t it pretty? I was in love and decided I really wanted to use my nails as my creative outlet. I’ve had so much fun since then!

I probably followed a tutorial but I honestly don’t remember. I know, I know… Not cool.

To do this I used:
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear – Mint Sorbet
Wet n Wild – 436 (Pink pearl is the name I believe. It’s really old)
Chic – silky white
Dotting tool
Brush

Flower accent

This is a simple accent I added to my manicure because, now that I’m into nail art, I’m not sure I can do plain nails anymore.

For this look I used:
Sally Hanson – Black Diamond
Sinful Colors Striper – sunset
Sinful Colors Striper – morning breath
BPS – Black rhinestones
Tiny dotting tool

That’s all! Short and sweet. I hope y’all like it.

Ps. Please forgive the oddly placed pinky finger.

I Scream for Ice Scream!

Day 10 of the Pre-Spring Challenge has “Ice cream” as it’s theme. I am still lovin my rainbow nails from yesterday so I asked my youngest sister to let me do hers again. I wanted to do each nail a bit differently and do several kinds of ice cream. I did the thumbs like cones and the rest of the nails are each different.

Starting from left pinky we have chocolate marble, cherry on whipped cream, mint chocolate chip, chocolate with sprinkles, cookies and cream, strawberry with chocolate fudge, Neapolitan and vanilla with sprinkles. ๐Ÿ™‚

I used the following to achieve this look:
Bobbie – Touch of Beige
Sally Hansen hard as nails – Fireball Red
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear – Mint Sorbet
Oh My Golly – Demure
Oh my Golly – First Date
Caronia – On the Go
Caronia – First Crush
Jocarste – White 56
Sinful Colors – Nirvana
Klik – Mango Shake
Dark brown acrylic paint
Striper, large and small dotting tool, small paint brush

What do you think?

It’s Raining Rainbows!

Today’s theme is “Rainbow” for the Pre-Spring Challenge Day 9! I am loving these nails. they turned out so great! They are so cute they make me happy and they make me even happier because when I was browsing nail art online a few months ago my then 3-year-old saw these and said “Mommy do those rainbow nails!” So my sweet boy will be happy when we wakes up tomorrow and sees I finally did them. These are based on the beautiful and creative dripping rainbow mani by Simply Rins,ย another nail artist in the Philippines! Check out her blog!

I used some acrylics and polishes along with my striper brush.

Sally Hansen Hard as nails – Fireball Red
Sinful Colors Nail Art Striper – Morning Breath
Sinful Colors – Amethyst
Enchanted – Orange
Reeves Acrylic paints in Light Green, Phtalo Blue and Violet (mixed the last to make indigo)

As you can probably tell from the pictures, these were a doozy to clean up!

I hope you like them as much as I do!
