Hat Box Nail Art

Some products used were sent to me for my honest opinion.
Some were purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

Hey ladies!
I’ve got an ultra feminine look to share with you today. I wasn’t sure what to call it and my hubby said it reminds him of a hat box so we’re gonna go with that.

Light box

For the striped nails I applied 3 coats of Oh My Golly Quartz (pink) and then used a striper brush and Oh My Golly Hematite and carefully added the stripes. For the accent nails I started out with Hematite and used a dotting tool, Oh My Golly Quartz and White Out. The leaves were done with a small brush and Oh My Golly Gossip and Peridot.

Everytime I use my Oh My Golly polishes I love them more and more. They dry so fast and have great coverage. You can visit the FB page of Klik, the makers of Oh My Golly, and keep up with their promos and upcoming events here. I have it on good authority that a new collection is coming out in July!

What do you think of this look? Would you wear it? It’s a rather bold but feminine look I think. I like it!

Also, I’ve been playing around with my lighting a bit and the first pic is in a makeshift light box. I still used my phone but it might be nicer than the usual ones I take. What do you think?

Here Kitty, Kitty!

Howdy ladies! It’s been a busy week as you may have noticed by my lack of posting. I was in the mood for some rainbowy goodness so I used 3 easy coats of BK Holo #9 which I bought from Meann of MyOnline Shop. Since I like a little something more than just plain polish, I decided to try out some adorable new stickers I found at a fabulous store I’ll tell you more about in a later post. Aren’t these cat stickers just the cutest?

I also used these stickers this week to do the Bookworm’s nails. We went with 2 coats of Oh My Golly Purple Passion and a Korean gold glitter polish I found this week. They turned out super cute don’t you think?

I wasn’t expecting to be impressed at all with these as my past experience with nail stickers hasn’t been so great but these were thinner than the Wish brand stickers and they stuck well to the nail and didn’t peel up at all around the edge when I added top coat. I was pleasantly surprised. Have a great weekend!

Plum Delicious stamping and the Giveaway winner!

I did some pretty crazy nail art this weekend which I may or may not show you guys one day in the near future. I just had to take it off because while it looked cool, it was just not me! Have you ever had a mani like that? I was sad that I didn’t do the design on The Shutterbug because they fit her style perfectly. After I removed it I decided I needed some girly and mature nails so I looked at all the lovely bottles sent to me by Klik/Oh My Golly and I grabbed Klik Plum Delicious which I would describe as a dusty mauve pink with a subtle golden shimmer which is more visible in the bottle than on the nails as seems to be the case with most polishes like this. It was lovely after 2 coats. Being the polish addict I am, I can never wear polish on it’s own so stamped with Oh My Golly Gold Digger and it worked like a charm. Ladies in the Philippines, if you like stamping you really need to check out these Oh My Golly polishes. Many (not all though) of them are so opaque that they are fantastic for stamping! I think it looks lovely! I can see using a red with gold digger for some Chinese New Year nail art. What do you think? I used the OB27 stamping plate I purchased from Meann at MyOnline Shop.  For the record, the first picture shows best the true color of the polish.

Pretty Peridot

Hello beauties!
I purchased this polish myself.

Today I’ve got something kind of simple but very sparkly and pretty for you.
This is 3 coats of Peridot from the Oh My Golly Crystal Sand collection by Klik. I actually put in on a couple of days ago and couldn’t decide on whether to stamp something or try out some nail stickers I’ve had for a while. After two days of debating, the stickers won. The stickers are by Wish and can be purchased at Watsons for 15 pesos. I think they turned out cute and I didn’t have nearly the trouble with these stickers as I did the others I tried by Wish. I used Oh My Golly Colorless to top coat over the sticker.I want you to take note of the lack of tip wear on Peridot. After 48 hours of cleaning house and playing with kids I always find that pretty impressive. Especially considering there is no topcoat.

I cannot say enough about how much I love these Crystal Sand polishes! They dry so fast and stand well with or without topcoat. I’m hooked! Many of you have entered already but for all my new friends that don’t know yet, I’d like to mention that you could win this polish and the other 6 in the collection by entering my international giveaway which ends in approximately 39 hours! So what are you waiting for?

I’ve included shots of this mani in different light so you can see the details of the stickers and the gorgeous glittery goodness of Peridot with and without the stickers. I would not have thought that I would love this green so much but I do. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

It’s me, Mario!

Happy Friday everyone! I’ve got a fun filled post for you today. First I’d like to remind you that there is still time to enter my giveaway. Check it out here for a chance to win the Oh My Golly Crystal Sand collection. I had a very exciting week last week after I put up the info for my giveaway. I was contacted by Kimberly who is the General Manager and Product Developer for Ming Mei Cosmetics who makes the Oh My Golly and Klik polishes. We talked on the phone and she told me she loved my blog and she was so happy that I liked their polishes so much and she wanted to send me some more for giveaways and/or reviews. She was super sweet! So a few days ago I received a box in the mail and my jaw dropped when I opened the box and saw what all she sent me. Let’s just say that I’m excited and I’ve got lots to show you guys!

On to the nails! As I mentioned on my FB page, my sonhas been nagging me to do some nail art of his favorite game which is Super Mario, Mario Kart… Basically anything Mario. So I finally went online and found some pictures and gave it a whirl using several of my new lovely polishes byKlik/Oh My Golly. I think they turned out cute. When my son saw them he said “Ooooh. Great job!” so the effort was worth it. 🙂 What do you guys think?

As a base color I used Oh My Golly Atlantis. I thought about using a lighter blue but Atlantis was calling my name and I had to try it. It’s so pretty on it’s own. It’s almost a one coater and dries so fast. Isn’t it gorgeous? I can’t wait to try this with glittery tips!

Here’s a break down of what colors I used. On my index finger for the star I used Klik Mango Shake and Oh My Golly Black Out.

For the Goomba on the middle finger I used Klik Cocoa (Dk. Brown) and Klik Kofi (Lt. Brown) and Oh My Golly Black Out for the details.

I saw the design for the mushroom on the ring finger online somewhere a long time ago and it stuck with me. Not sure who the idea came from but it’s definitely not mine.

That being said, I used Oh My Golly Salsa, White out and Black out for this adorable mushroom.

For the bomb guy (if my hubby was here he could remind me of theactual name of this character) on my pinky I used Oh My Golly Black Out,Klik Ashley, Oh My Golly White out andKlik Mango Shake. I sealed everything with a coat of Oh My Golly Colorless.I used a nail art brush for most of the art and a dotting tool for a bit of it too.

I hope you guys like these and that you have a great weekend!
