Pinkadots!

Good day folks!
I’m participating in a nail art challenge during the month of July which is hosted by the very talented ladies at Craftynail, Brijits Digits and Eeeek Nail Polish. I will most likely not be able to do a mani for each day of the challenge, I for sure wanted to do something for the first day which is PINK day! Click here for more info on the challenge and to see the links to all the great manicures for the month. I know you will find lots of creative ladies participating. If you are just finding out about it, please consider joining. These ladies are about as sweet as they come! This challenge even has giveaways at the end!!! Woohoo!

Here I started with 3 coats of Klik Lazy Pink. I really love the color in the bottle but I do not like any VNL and was kind of sad to have to use 3 coats for opacity. As a mom I ain’t got time for that! Ha! Still a very pretty color. I believe it is what one would call a crelly. I topped it with two coats of a black and white polka dot glitter (with a splash of white bar glitter) topper I purchased at Blooming Nail Cebu for 30php which is about $0.70. It comes in a 9ml bottle labeled number 52. It’s label is not in English so I can’t tell you much about it except that it’s pretty!

Plum Delicious stamping and the Giveaway winner!

I did some pretty crazy nail art this weekend which I may or may not show you guys one day in the near future. I just had to take it off because while it looked cool, it was just not me! Have you ever had a mani like that? I was sad that I didn’t do the design on The Shutterbug because they fit her style perfectly. After I removed it I decided I needed some girly and mature nails so I looked at all the lovely bottles sent to me by Klik/Oh My Golly and I grabbed Klik Plum Delicious which I would describe as a dusty mauve pink with a subtle golden shimmer which is more visible in the bottle than on the nails as seems to be the case with most polishes like this. It was lovely after 2 coats. Being the polish addict I am, I can never wear polish on it’s own so stamped with Oh My Golly Gold Digger and it worked like a charm. Ladies in the Philippines, if you like stamping you really need to check out these Oh My Golly polishes. Many (not all though) of them are so opaque that they are fantastic for stamping! I think it looks lovely! I can see using a red with gold digger for some Chinese New Year nail art. What do you think? I used the OB27 stamping plate I purchased from Meann at MyOnline Shop.Β  For the record, the first picture shows best the true color of the polish.

It’s me, Mario!

Happy Friday everyone! I’ve got a fun filled post for you today. First I’d like to remind you that there is still time to enter my giveaway. Check it out here for a chance to win the Oh My Golly Crystal Sand collection.Β I had a very exciting week last week after I put up the info for my giveaway. I was contacted by Kimberly who is the General Manager and Product Developer for Ming Mei Cosmetics who makes the Oh My Golly and Klik polishes. We talked on the phone and she told me she loved my blog and she was so happy that I liked their polishes so much and she wanted to send me some more for giveaways and/or reviews. She was super sweet! So a few days ago I received a box in the mail and my jaw dropped when I opened the box and saw what all she sent me. Let’s just say that I’m excited and I’ve got lots to show you guys!

On to the nails! As I mentioned on my FB page, my sonhas been nagging me to do some nail art of his favorite game which is Super Mario, Mario Kart… Basically anything Mario. So I finally went online and found some pictures and gave it a whirl using several of my new lovely polishes byKlik/Oh My Golly. I think they turned out cute. When my son saw them he said “Ooooh. Great job!” so the effort was worth it. πŸ™‚ What do you guys think?

As a base color I used Oh My Golly Atlantis. I thought about using a lighter blue but Atlantis was calling my name and I had to try it. It’s so pretty on it’s own. It’s almost a one coater and dries so fast. Isn’t it gorgeous? I can’t wait to try this with glittery tips!

Here’s a break down of what colors I used. On my index finger for the star I used Klik Mango Shake and Oh My Golly Black Out.

For the Goomba on the middle finger I used Klik Cocoa (Dk. Brown) and Klik Kofi (Lt. Brown) and Oh My Golly Black Out for the details.

I saw the design for the mushroom on the ring finger online somewhere a long time ago and it stuck with me. Not sure who the idea came from but it’s definitely not mine.

That being said, I used Oh My Golly Salsa, White out and Black out for this adorable mushroom.

For the bomb guy (if my hubby was here he could remind me of theactual name of this character) on my pinky I used Oh My Golly Black Out,Klik Ashley, Oh My Golly White out andKlik Mango Shake. I sealed everything with a coat of Oh My Golly Colorless.I used a nail art brush for most of the art and a dotting tool for a bit of it too.

I hope you guys like these and that you have a great weekend!

I Scream for Ice Scream!

Day 10 of the Pre-Spring Challenge has “Ice cream” as it’s theme. I am still lovin my rainbow nails from yesterday so I asked my youngest sister to let me do hers again. I wanted to do each nail a bit differently and do several kinds of ice cream. I did the thumbs like cones and the rest of the nails are each different.

Starting from left pinky we have chocolate marble, cherry on whipped cream, mint chocolate chip, chocolate with sprinkles, cookies and cream, strawberry with chocolate fudge, Neapolitan and vanilla with sprinkles. πŸ™‚

I used the following to achieve this look:
Bobbie – Touch of Beige
Sally Hansen hard as nails – Fireball Red
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear – Mint Sorbet
Oh My Golly – Demure
Oh my Golly – First Date
Caronia – On the Go
Caronia – First Crush
Jocarste – White 56
Sinful Colors – Nirvana
Klik – Mango Shake
Dark brown acrylic paint
Striper, large and small dotting tool, small paint brush

Let’s go fly a kite!

Day 6 of the Pre-Spring Challenge is β€œSun” and I grabbed my youngest sister for my model and came up with this cute cloudy sky with the sun shining and a kite flying. I even threw a bunny shaped cloud and a heart shaped cloud in there too. I think it is adorable and so cheerful. It makes me want to go out and have a picnic. How about you?
Β
Adorable kite
Heart cloud.

To achieve this look I used:
Bichun – A65 (sky blue)
Sinful colors – Amethyst (purple)
Oh My Golly – Sunset (orangey pink)
Klik – Mango Shake
Jocarste – White
Kiss striper brush in black
I also used two different dotting tools and a striper pain brush.

On a side note, the Bichun light blue was a NIGHTMARE to use. It is pretty but so hard to apply. It is too thick and streaky. I did the best I could with it but if you look closely you can still see some streaks. Definitely not to be worn alone!
