SanSan Tea Rose with Foil and Stripes

Hello, fabulous people!

I have had migraines showing up and ruining my plans for posting.  After I started feeling better, I got so involved at home doing school with my two little ones, just having fun, and trying to slow time down to enjoy them longer. I love being a mom. Anyhooo…  I am happy to be able to post something this evening. I’ve been excited to share it for a while.

Sometimes I like to go out of my comfort zone with nail art. Especially when I see a design by someone else and think “I could barely probably pull off that look.” I saw this look by Haus Of Lacquer on their Instagram a couple of weeks ago and I really liked it, so I put my own spin on it.

SanSan Tea Rose (bottle shot)

I filed my nails more pointy than usual and started with two coats of SanSan Tea Rose. I love this polish! It’s a light-pink jelly with a pretty shimmer to it.  Then I used clear coat to add some silver foil and applied a topcoat. When that dried, I used a striping brush and black acrylic paint to add the lines. Cool huh? I imagine this style on a chic business woman. It’s classy but still edgy, and it totally reeks of self-confidence! I really enjoyed wearing these.

Caronia Tea Rose Christmas Nails (and My New Nail Shape)

Hi Gals!

I finally did it! I have been wanting to try a different nail shape for such a long time. It has taken me months to work up the courage to take the plunge and file away, but I finally did it! When I initially finished filing these I had them pointier than this, but I wasn’t quite ready for that yet so I filed the points down a bit. These are definitely an easier transition point. Tadaaaaaa!

Caronia Tea Rose with green rhinestones and foil
I do like them a lot, but I think I will like them even more when I get the shape just right. For this look, I started with just one coat of Caronia Tea Rose for my base. I have said it before and I’ll say it again… I LOVE this polish. How many reds are there out there that have this kind of coverage in one coat? Do you have one? Or a red that is a creme? All the other reds in my collection take 3 coats and are jelly-like or shimmery and thin. This is practically a one-coater. The formula is on the thick side so it makes application a bit tricky, but using a little care and taking your time makes all the difference. After Tea Rose dried, I took out my clear coat and after wiping most of the polish off the brush, I applied some over the red with random, splotchy strokes. Then after just a few seconds, I applied nail foils (#32-green on the accent nail and #17-red on the rest) that I purchased from Blooming Nail Cebu. I added some green rhinestones I purchased off Amazon quite a while back.

What do you think of my new shape? I’m not sure why the middle finger ended up looking so round compared to the others. Perhaps it’s due to my very limited skills in shaping nails. Here is hoping I will soon have perfected the shaping, and they will all look the same. A girl can dream, right?
These are the nails I sported on Christmas Day. They were perfect for the day, and my new nail shape was a big hit with the family. I wanted to share a couple of nail related gifts I received over the holidays too.
Colored feathers, glitter, and pearl studs
I was given these lovely nail art goodies by Blooming Nail Cebu. I am especially excited to try the feathers! Thank you Blooming Nail Cebu!
Nail polish racks built by Mr. Nailinator

Check out my new polish rack on the left! Mr. Nailinator was so sweet to make me another one since the one he made me in February was all filled up and even my overflow baskets were overflowing and cramping my style. As soon as he mounted it on the wall I filled it up and only had room for 2 more bottles. I bought my sister-in-law two polishes for Christmas, and she had them both already, so I let her trade them out for two polishes from my back up stash. I didn’t own either of the colors I picked for her so now my polish racks are completely full! Yikes! Believe it or not, those two are the only polishes I acquired for Christmas. I think I fit the category now where my friends and family don’t buy me polish because they don’t know if I already have a color or not.

Did you get any polishes for Christmas? I would love to hear what your favorite gift was that you received or gave to someone. I love getting little gifts, but I also love giving gifts.

I hope you have a blessed day.

L.A. Girl Black Illusion Gets Foiled

I’m so excited to show you what I’ve got on my nails today. It looks so stinking cool and was so easy to do!

I started off with 2 coats of L.A. Girl 3D Effects – Black Illusion. I wore it by itself for a day because it is beautiful and I just had to admire it for a while. Last night I needed something more so I grabbed my clear coat and my nail foil #22 that I purchased from Blooming Nail Cebu for only 8 pesos (that’s 19 cents US) for a 4 by 1 1/2 inch piece of foil. One piece is more than enough for a manicure. I don’t have nail foil glue so I just dabbed some clear coat on the nail and let it dry a bit and then I dabbed the foil onto the still sticky polish. I’ve added two layers of topcoat to smooth it over. It is so shiny and metallic IRL.

On another note, how do you like my crepe paper rose prop?

You can see my swatch of L.A. Girl 3D Effects in Black Illusion below. So purdy!

What do you think? Would you try this easy and awesome look? Check out Blooming Nail Cebu on their Facebook page to see what else they have to offer. They have tons of foils to choose from. If you live in Cebu and are into nails then you NEED to drop by. If you live elsewhere in the Philippines, they will ship to you. I stopped by there today to buy some of their new items and they sent me home with some goodies for a giveaway that will be live later this week. Yay!

By the way, I’m not being compensated at all for sharing about Blooming Nail Cebu. I’m just excited about what they have to offer and want to make sure other nail art enthusiasts like myself from the Philippines know where they can find supplies.

Here’s hoping you are all having a great week!
Hugs!

Metallic Purple

Today we’ve got “Metallic” as our theme. These are my first try at using nail foils. (I’ve gotten a lot of first tries in recently haven’t I?) The colors didn’t show up as well as I had hoped but that’s due to my dark base color choice I think.

I started off with two coats of Oh My Golly Purple Passion and then did a dashed design with the glue that I had that worked the best at picking up the awesomeness of the foil. I used the #22 foil that was sent to me by Blooming Nail Cebu. I do not have any of the special glue used for foils which is why I tried out the different glues I had here at home. I’ve been told since that you can use polish to transfer the foil so I will definitely try that next time. What do you think of this?

Have a great day ladies!
