Skittles

Before I tell you about this mani I want to say how sad I am that my topcoat killed this manicure! Mercilessly! Just look at those bubbles. No wait, don’t look at the bubbles. Just admire it from afar. It really is super adorable minus the bubbles.

The colors I used were
Jocarste – 56 white
Jocarste – 26 silver
Jocarste – 36 pink
China Glaze – For Audrey
Sinful Colors – Black on black
Dotting tool and a striping brush

Everything was free handed and I got tons of compliments with this look. I love it when my skittles turn out this cute.

Sassy Flowers

Happy Valentines Day y’all! Here are some very feminine floral nails I just whipped up for my hot date with the hubby to the grocery store tonight! Ha! I’m not a huge fan of this subtly glittery green on its own but it makes a great base for this mani.

To get this look I used:
Chic – Peridot
Cover Girl – Sassy Stawberry
L.A. Colors – Raspberry (the darker pink)
Dotting tools

I hope y’all like it. Please leave a comment and have a great day.

Pink Passion

I knew I wanted something that was girly for Valentine’s Day and this is what I came up with. I started with two coats of this extremely pink polish and then pulled out my stamping plates and put a heart on each nail and then finished off by adding quilting around the heart and rest of the nail. I used a straight pin at an angle to attempt straight looking stitches. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I’m sure someone has a tutorial out there which might have a super easy method for perfect stitches but I just came up with this and wanted to see if i could figure out how to get the look in my head. I think it’s time to invest in another brush to cut down to a tiny point. It seems to me a brush may work better. This is definitely not my best work but I do like it. It is very festive.

When I put the base color on I had the following conversation with my hubby:
Hubby: “Wow! That’s a really pretty color. What is it called?”
Me: “You think so? It’s called Pink Passion. I don’t know if I love it. It’s just so pink.”
H: “yeah, I really really like that color. It makes me happy just looking at it. Do you have a back up bottle?”
Me: “No. Wait, So you are saying you like Barbie pink?”
*We look around a while comparing pink things and determining that this isn’t quite Barbie pink.
*Hubby adds “Backup bottle of Pink Passion” to shopping list.
Long story short, Pink Passion by Caronia is Hubby approved. 🙂

I hope you guys like it.

Purple Gradient

If you look at how many purple polishes I have in my stash you would be tempted to say that it is my favorite color. I do love purple polish that is for sure!

This pretty look is a simple gradient. There are several ways to do gradients but I followed the Nailasaurus‘ which is just great. Y’all go check it out if you haven’t already. You won’t regret it.

I started out with First Crush and then used both First Crush and Amethyst for applying the gradient effect. I topped my look off with some glitter because, who doesn’t like a bit of sparkle here and there?

Here is what I used:
Sinful Colors – Amethyst
Caronia – First Crush
INM Northern Lights Quick dry top coat in Silver Holo
Makeup sponge
