Caronia Blue Moon Collection Swatches and Review (Bourrée, Avant, and Chassé)

Hi!
I’ve got a new collection from Caronia to share with you all today. Earlier this year, Caronia released its Art of Dance Collection which was created in partnership with Ballet Philippines. The Caronia Blue Moon Collection, is also in partnership with Ballet Philippines. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this collection will  be donated to Ballet Philippines’ Noordin Jumalon Scholarship Program, which supports the training of up to 200 dance scholars each year. How great is that? Great polish with a great cause! I love it!

The Caronia Blue Moon Collection consists of three polishes—Bourrée, Avant, and Chassé.

Caronia Blue Moon Collection - Bourrée

Bourrée is a metallic copper which is opaque in two generous coats. I tend to shy away from frosted polishes, but this falls somewhere between frosted and fine shimmer. That being said, brush strokes are still something to be careful of as you apply this polish. Now I have two orange polishes I like! Yay!

Caronia Blue Moon Collection - Avant

Avant is a frosted, emerald green that needs two generous coats for opacity. It’s a perfect shade for the upcoming holidays. As I have mentioned before, I’m not a big fan of frosted shades, but I am happy with the color and opacity of this polish. It didn’t stain at all upon removal.

Caronia Blue Moon Collection - Chassé

Chassé, is a gorgeous blue shade that is also included in the Art of Dance Collection. I’ve swatched it again anyway because it’s such a stunner! It has a jelly-like finish and is so vibrant! Just look at it! Love! I used 3 coats for this squishy finish.

These polishes are all 3-Free and dry quickly. Suggested retail price (SRP) for this 3-piece (8ml each) set is Php99.75 ($2.22). They are also available individually for SRP Php31 ($0.69) each.

Which is your favorite from this trio? I’m loving Chassé the most at the moment. Here is hoping you are having a great week. Keep smiling!

L.A. Girl 3D Effects Electric Coral with JR17 Stamping

Hi ladies!
I am thrilled to announce that I have found the perfect orange polish for me! By “the perfect orange”, I really mean that it’s the only orange I have actually been brave enough to try on my nails.

L.A. Girl Electric Coral with tribal stamping

Surprisingly, I LOVE it! This is three thin (and super quick drying) coats of L.A. Girl Electric Coral with some quick stamping with my JR-17 stamping plate (click to see image and pricing) that Meann of My Online Shop sent me a while back. Stamping is a very easy way to add some flair to any manicure. This plate has some really cool and fun tribal prints, and this orange is a perfect base for them IMHO. The black on orange was really eye catching.

I have mentioned before how great the L.A. Girl 3D Effect polishes are. I love the colors, the speedy dry time, the awesome holo sparkle, and the easy cleanup. Now that I know, I also have to add that they have great customer service. I ordered several polishes from them while I was in Texas and received one with a bent brush. I noticed the messed-up brush just a week before we left to come back home to the Philippines. So I contacted them and sent them a photo of the brush, and they sent me a replacement within just a couple of days. I appreciate them making and extra effort for speed considering I was on a time crunch. It’s the little things, people!

Things are going well for us. Our school year is off to a great start, and my house is slowly getting back to being organized. I hope all is well with you too. Thanks for reading. Have a fantastic day and don’t forget to make someone smile!

Hugs!

I’m back!

Hello ladies!

I decided to take a blogging hiatus as we visited our family and loved ones in Texas. We had an amazing trip filled with much fun, laughter and lots of love. We are back in Cebu now, and have (mostly) gotten over the jet lag. I’ve been unpacking, dusting and cleaning everything! I’m about ready to get back to blogging. I’m going to have to find a new rhythm as we also just started our school year. I am continuing to home school and my boy is starting 1st grade. Fun, fun, fun!

Anywhoooo… While the blog has been on stand-by, I HAVE been posting stuff on my Instagram account. In case you don’t follow me on Instagram, I thought I would share some of the very simple looks I have been sporting the past 3 months. I appreciate you sticking around despite my absence on the blog. I decided to soak up as much family time as possible with those we see so rarely. I have lots of new goodies to share with you as I get back into the swing of things. Lemmings were CRUSHED!

Have a fabulous day and thanks for tuning in!
Hugs,
Rach

Revlon Chroma Chameleon Amethyst

Hey everyone!

I’m so sorry for not posting lately. I’ve been a bit distracted since we’ve been in Texas. The last two weeks have been a blur of fun with my husband’s folks. We have ridden bikes, played in the sprinkler, been fishing, shopped at Kohl’s (Yay for jeans that fit!), hunted Easter eggs (multiple times), watched a reenactment of the Battle of San Jacinto, visited the zoo, eaten Mexican food and more. Needless to say, we have been busy and having so much fun. My nails (and cuticles) have been beaten up and sorely neglected though. I hope you will stick around despite it being a little slow around here. I’m honestly not sure how much I’ll be able to blog in the next 3 months. In fact, what I’ve got to share with you today is something I sported a while back that I haven’t shared yet. But it is cool!

Revlon Chroma Chameleon Amethyst in daylight

I received this polish as a gift from a great family friend who is also a total enabler in the polish addict department, and I really loved wearing it. This is 2 coats of Revlon Chroma Chameleon Amethyst over two coats of Caronia Trance.

Amethyst is a purple to green duochrome that I don’t think you could really wear on its own. But it is pretty layered over a similar shade. I had great difficulty photographing this polish and capturing the shift. But I hope you can get a decent idea with the awkward pictures I do have to share. The pictures show the brush strokes really bad but they weren’t as obvious in real life.

I added stamping with Pueen Love Elements plate 47 and Color Club Harp On It which ended up looking really cool. I love holo stamping over dark polishes. Don’t you? The shot above was taken in direct lighting to show off the holo. I received a lot of compliments while wearing this.

This is the only polish I have from the Chroma Chameleon line from Revlon. I really like it. I don’t have much experience with duochromes though. What about you? Do you have this one or any of the others? Do you like them?

That’s all for me tonight. I’m off to get the kids to bed (fingers crossed) and hopefully polish my nails too (fingers and toes crossed).
I hope you have a blessed day or night depending on where you are in this wide world.
Hugs,
Rach

Girl Stuff Soirée (with Wild Berries)

Hi gals!
I feel sad that I haven’t been able to post as much as usual lately. I’ve been nursing a cough/cold for 2 weeks now, and we have been preparing for our trip to Texas. We leave in the morning, and while I am not looking forward to the long trip, I am looking forward to being with our family and friends there.

I’m so thrilled to finally have Girl Stuff Soirée in my collection. It’s been on my lemming list since I saw it in December. I finally ordered it a couple of weeks ago, and of course, I had to use it immediately. It’s a teal jelly base loaded with teal, green, purple and gold glitter. There is also a splash of holo in it that is lovely. I applied 2 coats and enjoyed the sparkly, textured finish for a couple of days. Then I applied top coat and loved it even more. The glitter really sparkles like crazy with top coat. It needed two coats to make it smooth.

Girl Stuff Soirée with Wild Berries and top coat

For my accent nail, I placed striping tape on the nail and then added one coat of Wild Berries (which Girl Stuff sent me as a bonus from their new Summer Collection. Thanks again, Girl Stuff!) and peeled off the tape before it could dry. Wild Berries is a pinkish purple that is very flattering.

Here is a shot of Soirée on its own, without topcoat. Both Soirée and Wild Berry dried quickly and were easy to use. Girl Stuff polishes are 3 free too so that is great! Check out their FB page or Instagram to see more of their pretty polishes.

I think you will see Wild Berries again soon as it made in into my luggage for the trek across the globe. Believe it or not, I’ve only packed a few polishes to bring. I am planning to pick up a few in the US, so I tried to limit myself to about 10. Success!

That’s all from me for now. I’m going to try to get a bit of sleep before we have to load up and head to the airport. I’m excited because the hubby bought me an awesome “Greatest Hits of the 1950’s” album for me for the trip in honor of our anniversary which is also today. Nine years baby! Woohoo! Next time you hear from me, I should be in Texas enjoying some Mexican food, Dr. Pepper, and shopping (with coupons!) at Kohl’s!

I hope you have a fabulous day!
Hugs,
Rach
