Eeeek! Inspired Glitter Placement Nail Art

Hello!

It’s a great day! It’s Friday and it just so happens to be the birthday of one of my all time favorite bloggers EVAR! Jemma of Eeeek! Nail Polish! has just completed another trip around the sun. To celebrate the occasion, several of us got together to honor her by recreating some of her fabulous nail art. I chose this glitter placement mani that she did recently. Check it out. Isn’t it just lovely? If you love nail art you NEED to follow her because she is a never-ending source of amazing inspiration!

Hugs!

PS. Thanks Brijit for being a sweetheart and organizing all this.

I Love Nail Polish Indie Go with Spiderwebs

Hi, Dolls!

I may be slacking a bit in the blogging department, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been doing my nails. I am also working on some product reviews which will be featured here very soon.  In the past couple of weeks, I have been doing several overdue craft projects here at home. Did you know that, in addition to nail art, I love to sew, cross stitch, paint, and make all sorts of crafty things? I am also fond of cultivating my OCD tendencies and germophobia by indulging in my long-time hobby of organizing and cleaning the house. With two little ones running around, I’m never at a loss for something to clean.

I was up super late doing some awesome “The Nightmare Before Christmas” nail art for The Shutterbug (I’ll share those soon), so I went for some thing quick and easy for myself. I started with two coats of  I Love Nail Polish Indie Go. It happens to be my favorite indie polish and a very cool shade to wear for the season. I used my MJ XIII plate from MyOnline Shop with some special stamping polish and stamped these neat cobwebs on my nails. I used this same stamp last year, but with a new nail shape and a change of colors, I think it looks completely different. Wouldn’t you agree?

Check out my swatch of Indie Go. It’s what I would call a “blurple”—meaning it’s blue, but it’s also purple. I had trouble catching the holo magic using my lightbox, and it rained every day while I was wearing this, so I never could get a snapshot of it in the sun. #bloggerproblems

SanSan Tea Rose with Foil and Stripes

Hello, fabulous people!

I have had migraines showing up and ruining my plans for posting.  After I started feeling better, I got so involved at home doing school with my two little ones, just having fun, and trying to slow time down to enjoy them longer. I love being a mom. Anyhooo…  I am happy to be able to post something this evening. I’ve been excited to share it for a while.

Sometimes I like to go out of my comfort zone with nail art. Especially when I see a design by someone else and think “I could barely probably pull off that look.” I saw this look by Haus Of Lacquer on their Instagram a couple of weeks ago and I really liked it, so I put my own spin on it.

SanSan Tea Rose (bottle shot)

I filed my nails more pointy than usual and started with two coats of SanSan Tea Rose. I love this polish! It’s a light-pink jelly with a pretty shimmer to it.  Then I used clear coat to add some silver foil and applied a topcoat. When that dried, I used a striping brush and black acrylic paint to add the lines. Cool huh? I imagine this style on a chic business woman. It’s classy but still edgy, and it totally reeks of self-confidence! I really enjoyed wearing these.

Purple Mix’N’Match Mani (Featuring Pretty Nifty Thrifty Decals)

Howdy!
I’ve got a fun skittle mani to share today. I wanted to try out my Pretty Nifty Thrifty water decals as an accent mani. So I used one of the “Streaks” decals on my ring finger. Each set includes 12 decals which is enough for one full set of nails with a couple of extras for accent nails. Check out my review of these great decals to see my application tips. I did an ombre with the rest of the nails and added some triangle studs I just purchased. I think this looks really cool. Don’t you? I received a bunch of compliments on them.

Want to know what these pretty purple polishes are?
Pointer – Ballerina by Nails To Go
Middle – Tropical Breeze by L.A. Colors
Pinky – Amethyst by Chic

I used a coat of white under the water decal to keep the colors vibrant. I’m not sure why I can’t get the decals to photograph as clear as they look IRL. But they really do look great.

If you are following me on Instagram you already know this… But Pretty Nifty Thrifty is generously sponsoring a giveaway (open to Philippine residents only). Three lucky winners get their pick of 3 sets of decals as a prize. All you have to do to join is follow @thenailinator and @prettyniftythrifty on IG, repost the picture about the giveaway with #pntgiveaway, and tag a few friends.  What are you waiting for? Go! Go! Go! Winners will be announced on Sept. 20!

I hope you are having a great day!
Hugs!

L.A. Girl Sand Blast in Sand Storm

Hi Girls!
I finally found an orange shade I loved a couple of weeks ago and now I’m back with a nude that I love. I have come across several nudes but have never liked one enough to wear it on my nails. I’ve got a very pinkish undertone to my skin, so I guess I needed something with a touch of pink to make it work for me. Apparently, L.A. Girl Sand Storm is just right.

L.A Girl 3D Effects Sand Storm with studs

My sweet friend, Jax, of Craftynail sent me Sand Storm a while back, and I’m so glad she did. I added gold studs for a classy but edgier look. I love it! It made me wish I had some triangle shaped studs though. I’ve added that to my shopping list for the next time I go nail art shopping.

All you need is 2 coats of Sand Storm for full, even coverage. I’ve got 3 coats on here because I wore it by itself for a day, then added another coat when I was ready to add the studs. I did not try this polish with topcoat so I’m not sure how that would look. Cleanup took a little bit of extra effort compared to a regular creme polish but not nearly as much work as glitter.

Well, what do you think? Do you have a favorite nude shade? Do you struggle with nudes like I do?

I hope you have a wonderful day!
Hugs from me to you,
Rachael
